Gods blessings be with you.

With the choir’s cantata, Sunday was a day filled with song and praise. I would like to thank those who put in so many hours of work getting everything ready and sounding so good. Nita, thank you for your efforts as director. You pick the music and then have to work so hard to help it come to life. To Cody and Troy, thank you for giving your time to run the sound board for us. You have had the unique position of being able to hear the choir as it was learning the music. At times it might not have seemed possible, but we made it there. To the soloists, thank you for sharing your talents with us. It was a journey of love, presented in joy and happiness. Jim, once again we thank you for your narration. It seems each year we throw a new word at you, but you always come through.

The choir will be taking a much deserved break but will return again to cheer out services with song. It is hard to believe that less than two years ago, when I first arrived there was no choir. We have come a long way, to God be the glory.

Looking ahead to Saturday, it is time to pull on the work gloves and get to cleaning. We will be meeting at 9 a.m. to start the work of transforming the property on 4th street into the Nadine’s Outreach. This will be a new way to serve our community and spread God’s love.

This month has a fifth Sunday with both a contemporary service and a meal of fellowship to follow. We will also honor our High School Seniors on that Sunday. Come join the fun. Later this Summer we will be having a homemade ice cream contest, so start practicing and perfecting your recipes.  More information on date and time to follow.

Remember to come and share the Lord’s Day together here at First United Methodist. If you are unable to attend, the service is streamed on our Facebook page, but we would love to see you here at service.
