Gods blessings be with you.

This past week I attended an early screening of the movie, Paul, the Apostle of Christ. When I first received the invitation, I was surprised never having been to a prescreening. When I looked at the possible locations to attend, each was a good distance away so that I almost decided not to go. Then I noticed that one of the locations was in Austin, Texas. Here I thought was an opportunity to see the movie and also see the family located in the Austin area, including my grandson. So, we packed up and took the trip. I was pleasantly surprised by the movie. It was a presentation of the last days of the life of the apostle Paul and his interaction with Luke the physician, the writer of the gospel and the Act of the Apostles. I found the movie true to the writings of Paul in the presentation of him. It was not overly sensationalized, nor did it rewrite history. I came away energized by the movies message and totally entertained. The movie is due to be released on March 28th of this year. If you get the chance to go and see it, I would highly recommend it. I know I will be keeping my eyes open for locations because I would like to see it again. There is a poster for the movie on the bulletin board outside my office.

This week we will be starting our Lentin Bible study, Restored: Finding Redemption in Our Mess. This is a six-week study that is designed to get us ready for the Easter by helping us examine our lives and to give guidance to the way out of our mess. Classes will be at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Join with us as we study together.

Come and share the Lord’s Day together here at First United Methodist. If you are unable to attend, remember that the service is streamed on our Facebook page, but we would love to see you there at service.
