Gods blessings be with you.

We had our home-made chili cook off and the winner was – everyone. A good time was had by all in tasting the seven different chili dishes brought by the competitors, having a time for fellowship, and visiting. It tickled my funny-bone that the winner was someone who joined saying he did not have a chance, did not really cook chili and was joining just to be involved. Cody McCain was the winner! He did admit that Tabitha helped him with the seasoning, so she too was a winner. A big thank you to Debbie Kelley and Lisa Moreland for their help in organizing the kitchen. Also, a thank you to those who brought the go withs and the cookies. We did learn some lessons for the next time we have an event like this. This was the first annual, from the response there will be a second annual. Even the weather cooperated, giving as a cold day, when chili hits the spot.

On Wednesday, we will be having our Ash Wednesday service at 6 p.m. This service starts the season of lent, a time of reflection and preparation for Easter. Come and join us. If you need transportation for that night, please contact Nita Clark as she has volunteered to be our transportation coordinator.

Next week on the 21, Bible study will be starting back up. Times will be 10 a.m. and 6p.m. Please get your book before the class and read chapter 1 before coming to class. Bring you Bibles and study book to class each session. Let us learn together as we get ready for Easter with the Study; Restored: Finding Redemption in Our Mess.

Lots to do this Lenten Season, come and share the Lord’s Day together here at church.
