Greetings in the name of the Lord.

This past Sunday was a time for honoring. We honored the veterans in our congregation and honored the memory of those killed the Sunday before in Sutherland Springs First Baptist Church. Both very important and needed.

First, let me say thank you to Cody for all the work he put in getting the veteran’s program together. It was truly moving to me as a veteran and very appreciated. It was also interesting to see the old pictures as we saw everyone in uniform. You have set the bar high for next year, well done.

Through the week, everyone was thinking about the horrible events that took place in Southland Springs. Our prayers are with that community and all who were injured or lost love ones. The evil one was active that day. We believe as Christians that those murdered that day were taken into the loving arms of the Lord and now are taking part in the heavenly banquet. The evil one may have been active, but he did not win. My hope is that those throughout the country would remember that town in their prayers and go to church. Do not let the actions of that day keep anyone from church, for then the evil one will accomplish his goal.

May God’s love and grace be with you this week.

See you in church.
