April 18, 2017:

Greetings in the name of the Lord.

The joy of the Easter season. This past week was a very exciting time here at First United Methodist Church. We took the steps through Holy Week together starting with Palm Sunday.

On Palm Sunday, our choir blessed us with a presentation of “Because He Lives.” I truly thank them for the many hours spent getting ready for the day. Thanks to Nita for her efforts as choir director. It was fun that Sunday celebrating together. There were over a hundred people in attendance and all were blessed by the sharing of the story and song.

On Thursday, we gathered together to celebrate the greatest meal ever served, that is still going on today. Our Lord’s Supper was started that day. We came together as a family to share the meal and remember His love.

Then came Friday, a time to remember our Lord’s sacrifice for us. I really want to thank those who took part in that service. Their gift to the congregation that night was amazing. I am really sorry if for some reason, you had to miss that night. You missed something special.

On Saturday, the kids had some fun as our church hosted an Easter Egg hunt with the Easter Bunny in attendance. It was truly a joy to watch. I want to thank all those who gave of their time to set things up and those members of the congregation who donated the candy.

Easter was truly a great day. Some members even made it out to the Sunrise service. We had over 35 in attendance at 7 am. It was a day of celebration and joy. We had around 140 in attendance, WOW! It is so much fun to have that many here and to hear that many voices praising God together.

Let us move forward through this year energized by this past week and strive to be the people of God serving Him.

May God’s love and grace be with you this week.

See you in church!
