April 10, 2017:

Greetings in the name of the Lord.

Last Sunday was awesome! The choir gave a great presentation of “Because He Lives.” Thank you to Nita Clark for her efforts as choir director. Thanks to the choir members for all the time and effort they put into getting the music ready for us. Thank you to the banner bearers. Thank you to David Black for building our new banner holders. And finally, thank you to all who attended. Your presence helped to carry the choir to new heights.

This week, Holy Week, is full of things to do and services to attend. On Thursday, we will be having our Holy Thursday service at 6 pm. This service remembers the night when Jesus shared the Lord’s Supper with his disciples. The Service will include communion.

A Tenebrae service will be held on Good Friday. This is a special service built around the seven last words of Christ from the cross. That night we will remember the sacrifice of our Lord on our behalf. The service ends in darkness and we will leave the church in silence.

Saturday is candy time for the children as we have our Easter egg hunt 2 pm at the church. This is open to all youngsters. If you are not a young person yourself, come and watch the fun!

Then at 7 am on Easter Sunday we are invited to a sunrise service at Hall’s pond. Come and greet the day and celebrate Christ’s victory. Then we will be having our Easter Sunday Service at 11 am. Come and see the lilies, the living cross and sing the songs of Jesus’ victory.

I look forward to seeing you all many times this week.

May God’s love and grace be with you this week.

See you in church!
