September 6, 2016:

Greetings in the name of the Lord.

This week’s entry is a day late due to the celebration of Labor Day. That time when we pause and remember those who through their efforts make life a little better. We give thanks for those who labor to bring forth food, those who prepare and package it, those who transport it and those who stock it in the grocery stores where we can buy it. We give thanks for those whose work, build and maintain our homes. Those who work for the power companies giving us electricity and gas to power and heat/cool our homes. Those who work for the utilities that bring us water. Those who labor to provide the commodities we need.

We are blessed to live in a land of plenty. May we share these blessings with those around us. God has given us so much and only asks that we use what he gives us to help others.

This week, on Monday, a member of our church, Bill Jones, went to be with his maker. He will be missed. Funeral preparations are still being made as this is being typed. The church office will send out notices as we learn more. Please remember the family in your prayers.

Have a blessed week.
